πŸ‚ Why my perspective on fall has changed ... πŸ‚

As a summer enthusiast who previously lived in Germany, Ireland and the UK, I wasn’t always a fan of the dark, gloomy seasons like fall and winter. For me, fall often signaled the end of long, cheerful summer days, which made me feel melancholic as a child.

However, living in the US has completely transformed my perspective on fall. Here’s why:

πŸ‚ Pumpkins and Pumpkin Spice:
If you’ve ever enjoyed a pumpkin spice latte, cookie, or doughnut, you know the allure of this seasonal flavor. Despite the name, pumpkin spice does not contain pumpkin, but is rather a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves, creating a delightful taste that marks the season.

πŸ‚ Pumpkin Patches, Cider Mills, and Orchards:
Fall is the perfect time to visit pumpkin patches, choose your own vibrant pumpkins, and get lost in corn mazes. In Michigan, cider mills offer delicious cider and warm doughnuts, and orchards are perfect for harvesting fresh fruits and vegetables.

πŸ‚ Halloween:
Halloween in the US is a major celebration, even for adults. From elaborate costume parties and spectacular masquerade balls to spooky haunted houses, it’s a time for thrilling fun and creativity.

πŸ‚ Thanksgiving:
I’ve grown to prefer Thanksgiving over Christmas. Unlike Christmas, which often focuses on presents, Thanksgiving emphasizes giving and sharing. It’s a holiday celebrated by everyone, regardless of religion or culture, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to teach kids about gratitude.

πŸ‚ Maple Tree Colors: The brilliant red hues of maple trees in fall are breathtaking. I wish the vibrant colors lasted a bit longer, but they make the season truly special.
